Short and sweet, no no dear friends, Serge is not talking about the length of his solidus snake nor is he referring to the saccharine taste of it. He is talking about THE BIGGEST LITTLE FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD !! Yes folks, Short+Sweet is back for the third year running and starting from yesterday until October 30th, 2011, the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre will play host to this event.
And event where in just ten minutes anything can and will happen. From musical theatre, dance piece and even just plain theatre, Short+Sweet takes center stage in quick ten minute skits. Beginning September 28th till October 1st, Short+Sweet Musical begins and did you know that Malaysia made history by being the first country to feature a musical category in SHORT + SWEET in 2010. What an achievement in the performing arts world.
Well, Serge went for the opening last night to watch and to support one of his acquaintance who has a piece in tonight’s musical sprint. There were ten musical skits and each skit like what was mentioned earlier, each was done in ten minutes. As a person who loves musical, Serge was entertained by each session and each piece brought out a meaning that is deep and meaningful. Stuck in a castle, a captured Princess waits for her Prince Charming to rescue her. However due to some personal matters, Prince Charming could not come and so his brother came to rescue the Princess. The skit portrays the shallow mind set of humanity that does not see what is beyond the wall and only sees the face value and not the value of the soul.

The unsung heroes and heroines of performing arts, the stage hands! Always making sure that the props are there, the mics are proper and making sure that everything in front of the stage is proper from the back. Wait a minute, proper from the back? Innuendos from that sentence !

Of all the musical skit for tonight, The Moment After is dark and emotional in a depressive kind of way. Lovers lost, lovers found with passion, jealousy and hatred all rolled into one. This is the piece which Serge loves the most.

Girls, Ladies, Maidens! What ever you want to call them it is an undeniable fact that unless they are carpet munchers, they love boys who sing and dance. So here’s the story about a boy band who is on a verge of a breakup when one of their members goes for change. A change that bring HEE HEE to a TEE HEE <3 <3.
