Hat-Trick Champions Cyrens Did It Again
Wow! Seriously.. WOW!
Serge is definitely beat from Cheer 2012 which was held at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam. Two days of tumbling, toe-touches, flips and summersaults. As a fan of cheerleading and anything that gets involves the youths, Serge attended the event for both days.
As this was his fourth Cheer event, he was expecting something grand and by the gods of hand stands; Serge got more than what he had bargained for. The teams did their very best to be number one. Some teams did much better in day one while some did much better in day 2. After the jump will be loads of picture and videos and thus it will take sometime to load.

On the first day of Cheer 2012, the teams were gunning for top position before they went all out on day 2. Lovers of Cheer will notice that there were mistakes here and there in their routine and for those who stayed for both days, those teams that had mistakes manage to improve. Good job team!
For this particular Cheer, we had not one, not two but three emcees. They were Jeremy , Azura and Terry, all from RED FM who are the radio sponsors too. If memory did not fail, this is the fourth time that Jeremy hosted Cheer and it was the first time that Serge got to knew him.
Love the games that Team JAT (Jeremy,Azura,Terry) played with the crowd and their ability to liven up the stadium. Sock wars happen and Azura was the first to get counted out. Jeremy tried to do a split which he did badly. There were about 3-4 teams which Serge did not manage to watch on day one as he was rushing to Kl for the Train concert.

The Train concert at KL Live will be a separate entry. Anyway, back to Day 2 and he was lacking sleep as he only slept the previous night/early morning at around 3am.
Day two for Serge started off with a massive traffic around the stadium as the car park which he used on day one was used by the wet market people. Nevertheless, he got a place and was in the stadium to enjoy the teams that were in the top 15 positions. It is a happy moment to see that the teams and their supporters that did not qualify were still there to support the other teams.
As it was Father’s Day, Team JAT got some of the cheerleader’s dad to show to the crowd their groovy moves. There was even a roll of death game where participants were to roll on the mat while lying down. One of the highlight of the day was to see Jeremy attempt a cartwheel, he epicly failed.

For those who know, Serge has been a supporter of Cyrens of SRI KL and it was time to announce who the champions were. As soon as Team JAT announced that Cyrens won… tears flowed, they cried and they were happy and rightfully so.
Cyrens is (for the time being) the only team to win the Cheer championship three times in a row, no other team in the history of Cheer has pulled of this phenomenal victory. To the girls of Cyrens, you did well and on day two, you girls were exceptional.
On a side note before Serge ends this entry, Joseph Germani, Dan Khoo and Dennis Yin were there too. One can say that many of their fans were more interested in taking photos with them instead of watching the performance on the mat.

You know I’ve always meant to go to Cheer but I’ve never been to one coz of clashing dates.
It’s good to see cheerleading being promoted in Malaysia.
I’ll go next year…
…in a pedobear costume. I’m pretty sure I’ll get kicked out, but it’ll be funny.

Huai Bin recently posted..Father’s Day @ Payung Cafe (and the best Father’s Day present)
if you did go in a pedobear costume and do anything funny to my love ones, i’ll shoot you not once but 10 times with a magnum
