Responsibilities and Pregnancies

What amazes him about the situation in this country is the increasing amount of teen pregnancies. That’s right, teen pregnancies. Just because we all live in country with good asian values does not mean that teen pregnancies does not happen. Denying this fact is denying the fact that women who hasn’t menopaused has never menstruated in their entire life (though there are some cases). So who is responsible for this social ill ?

Thruth be told, all of us including the teen who got pregnant is responsible so too is the guy whom had sex with her. As a nation, as a gathering of people from every ethnic groups, it is the responsibility as a collective to remove the taboo of sex. This taboo of talking about sex has constricted our mind to a point that even a simple kiss on the forehead, lips or even on the cheek of our significant other lands us in jail. We need to remove the mindset that sex is a devil’s toy. Serge does not deny the fact that sex is bad in some ways, but sex is also a good thing.

In the collective, the next group of people are the educators of this nation. In this country, students learn about the reproductive organ at the age of 15. They learn what the ovaries do, what happens during menstruation, the use of the testes, the sperm and the ovum….basically what is taught is the biological aspect of sex. What needs to be taught is the emotional and the physical aspect as well as the responsibility of having sex. Just teaching about “When the penis is inserted to the vagina, the sperm will be released and it flows through the fallopian tube..reaching the ovum and thus life begins” is utter nonsense.

We need to tell our young ones that, the process is like what was mention but the emotional sensation felt by an individual differs from individual to individual. We too have the responsibility to teach them that sex is not wrong, but they must realize about the potential and the complications of getting pregnant. The education of sex to a student by the educators is important.

The next line of educators are the parents. Parents out there, for the love of all that is good; do not go on ranting and screaming to your children “Have sex and your penis/vagina will drop off?”. Sure this scare tactic will work and surely before you got pregnant with your teenage son/daughter your mum said the same thing to you, so why then did you have sex with your husband ? Teens in this age know it’s a scare tactic and being in the age of rebellion they will rebel. What you as responsible parent can do is actually quite simple, talk about sex to your teenage kids.

Serge isn’t kidding, he can hear you squirm. He knows it’s hard to talk about it as many parents living the asian value had learnt about sex only on the night their husband parted their leg and inserted their asian size penis into their vagina. But in this year and age, we cannot and we must not have our children learn sexual intercourse at the wrong time. Just like the scouts motto : Be Prepared , so to must we prepare our children of the real world.

And finally, to the teens out there who reads this. Having sex is a responsibility and Serge believes it’s your right whether you want to open your legs or not. But remember this, if you do have sex do it for love…do it because you want to. Do not have sex because you are forced, do not have sex because you feel that your boyfriend will stay with you because of that. Always get your partner to use a condom, if there is no condom do not have sex. I for one whom has had sex without a condom with a former ex knows that the ex enjoyed the spraying of semen into her vaginal walls. But what happens if she got pregnant ? During that time us men will go on bragging about “Don’t worry, i’ll take care of you”, reality is only 30% of us men has the guts and will be responsible for the actions that we take. So then you as an individual, the choice of having sex is yours. But always get him to wear a condom, it just takes less than 1 minute to put it on.

For that 1 minute of stoppage time, you prevent most sexual transmitted disease, you prevent pregnancy. Just be aware that having a kid is tough, the food, diapers and necessary items are expensive. And unless your allowance is at least $2000 a month, getting pregnant is really not an option. Serge is not trying to discourage you people out there about not having sex, he’s just informing you about what you need to know.

of course no amount is enough. The ever increasing cost of education, the diapers, the plummeting economy.. HELL…. i’ll be amazed if you can care for 3 kids while working as a roti canai seller.
