So last week after months of searching, Roxy Malaysia ends the Dare Yourself campaign from filtering down the final five to that final one. That one girl who shines and embodies what Roxy is all about and that is being confident, fun and daring.
As we all do not know and Lyle is here to clarify a few things or maybe just one thing that sounds as though it’s a few. First of all, Dustyhawk :: Broken Mirror is in no way officially affiliated with Roxy nor is Lyle. They (Lyle and this blog) is an independent entity who occasionally helps Roxy out with their events. Now with that out of his throat, let us begin our story through quips of phrases.
As a brief recap to the Dare Yourself campaign by Roxy, it (the campaign) began in January 2013 with Roxy Malaysia having roadshows and an online form for would-be Roxy Girls to take part in the contest. Of course having hundreds of entry would be the death of many people, thus it was cut down to the top 15 through judges call and voting from the public.
When one follows Lyle and if you were at the Midvalley Spring/Summer Fashion Week in April, you would have seen the Top 15 Roxy Girls. Those beautiful 15 strutted on the catwalk and from then on, it was the top 5. Lyle was pleased with the top 5 selection and was secretly rooting for one particular person, though that one did not win but was in the top 5 obviously.
So, who won ? Well the lovely Kimberly Wan who is this years Roxy Girl 2013 and by winning the Roxy Dare Yourself (Malaysian leg), she walks away with products by Roxy, Nirve Bike, Inglot, Raizins, Skullcandy & Amber Chia Academy, all in all worth RM10,000. In addition to that, Kimberly is in the running to be one of the 5 lucky ones to win a trip of a lifetime with the Roxy professional athletes, monetary prizes and Roxy apparel all worth USD $5,000.
Finger food was served during the night, Lyle talked to some of the Roxy finalist whom he knew personally and of course congratulated Kimberly who won. A quick fact about her is that she does not know how ride a bicycle. Before heading back home from Boardriders Cafe, Lyle took shots of the finalist doing funny poses and the following set are the results of how fun they can be.
